Hannes Wessels is a therapist and educational psychologist based in Cape Town with extensive experience working with adults and adolescents. Hannes has a passion for using evidence-based approaches to provide quality services to his clients. His areas of expertise include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Life Design Career Counselling, and Psychometrics.
In addition to his work as a therapist, Hannes provides training to clinicians in Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Career Counselling and Psychometrics. Hannes has fulfilled lecturing roles in psychology (pre-and postgraduate) at the University of Johannesburg (UJ), University of Witwatersrand (Wits), and the South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP).
Hannes is the Chair-Elect for the Association for Behavioural Contextual Sciences of South Africa (ACBS South Africa), as voted by his peers. He has also provided his expert opinion on various radio and television shows, including 5FM, RSG, KykNet, eNCA, SABC News, and more. One of the highlights of his career was presenting at the International Congress of Psychology in Yokohama, Japan. Hannes completed his graduate and post-graduate studies at the University of Johannesburg, holding several degrees, including M.Ed. Educational Psychology, MA, BEd(Hons)(Ed Psych), BA(Hons), BA, PGCE, and TESOL(Wits).
