About the event
Many ACT practitioners find that their interventions can become structured or formulaic, despite the inherently dynamic and complex nature of human psychology. Traditional diagnosis-driven approaches often struggle to capture the unique needs of individuals, particularly when clients present with multiple interacting difficulties. This workshop explores the latest developments in process-based therapy, helping clinicians shift from rigid protocols to a flexible, context-sensitive approach grounded in the principles of Contextual Behavioural Science and psychological flexibility.
Led by master clinician and peer-reviewed trainer Lou Lasprugato, this intermediate four-hour workshop focuses on applying ACT with greater fluidity, precision, and responsiveness. Participants will learn how to identify and work with the core processes of psychological flexibility in real time, use functional analysis to guide interventions, and strengthen therapeutic impact through modelling, evoking, and reinforcing adaptive behaviour. Teaching includes demonstrations, video vignettes, and feedback-enhanced small group exercises designed to translate theory into clinical practice.
